EDPC301-22* Human Development

Course overview – This course looks at the development of the human being across the lifespan. It is essentially the multidisciplinary study of how people change and how they remain the same over time (Kail & Cavanaugh, 2007). In essence, the course seeks to help students understand and explain the common changes and differences in human behavior from birth to death. It looks at the development of the human being from the Biopsychosocial Framework, exploring recurring issues in human development – nature-nurture issue, continuity versus discontinuity and universal versus context-specific development. The course draws from different theories and research in attempt to address these issues/concepts.
